I founded UpperEdge because I believe the market needs a new set of sourcing and commercial advisory offerings which can better position the role and value of IT and procurement. By complementing IT and procurement teams with relevant market intelligence and proven sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management strategies, we provide the means for reducing IT costs and cycle times associated with delivering capabilities to the business.
I have worked closely with many brilliant people and awesome companies over the span of my career. These companies have all made substantial investments in IT services and technologies. Although these companies are benefiting from their investments, they are just scraping the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the additional value they could be extracting from such key relationships. By optimizing the way in which IT services and technologies are sourced, negotiated, and managed, I believe companies can realize and sustain a competitive edge.
In order to enhance overall execution and drive evolutionary and sustainable results from key IT relationships, companies must ensure there is clear alignment and linkage of long-term objectives upon commencement of the sourcing process through on-going vendor and supplier management. This can be accomplished so long as there is a mechanism for continuously feeding relevant market intelligence and evolving best practices into the sourcing lifecycle.
