January 2010 – Oracle files lawsuit against Rimini Street alleging massive theft of Oracle’s software and support materials, alleging co-founder Seth Ravin duplicated TomorrowNow‘s “corrupt business model” at Rimini Street.
February 2010 – Oracle subpoenas Rimini Street’s competitors: Spinnaker Support (at the time provided support for Oracle’s JD Edwards software), CedarCrestone (at the time provided support for Oracle’s PeopleSoft software), and netCustomer (at the time provided support services for Oracle’s PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel software).
March 2010 – Rimini Street countersues Oracle for anticompetitive practices – alleging that Oracle engaged in copyright misuse, defamation, disparagement, trade libel and unfair competition under the California Business and Professions Code. Co-founder Seth Ravin maintains that Rimini Street acts within its customers’ rights under their software licenses.
November 2011 – Oracle subpoenas 275 Rimini Street Customers, prompting increased claims that Oracle is employing scare tactics.
April 2012 – Rimini Street announced tripling in sales for Rimini Street Support of Oracle applications.
July 2012 – Rimini Street reports another quarter of record revenue, in spite of the litigation
September 2012 – Rimini Street is named winner of a bronze Stevie® Award in the customer service category of The 9th Annual International Business Awards.
October 2012 – Rimini Street boasts 150% growth in bookings for Oracle support at Oracle OpenWorld and also announced plans to expand services to cover Oracle Hyperion products, including Planning, Essbase, Financial Management, Financial Close Management, Strategic Finance and Management Analytics.
December 2012 – Rimini Street’s Seth Ravin compares the Oracle lawsuit to music publishers fighting digital music downloads … “For them this is the last stand, they are not going without a fight. But you can’t stop change with litigation.”
January 2013 – Rimini Street reports largest sales quarter in company history and record 2012 results.
